Ten games, two days, first year. The First Annual Route 29 Series is now history.

Home field advantage may have played a part.  First games of the fall regular season may have also been a factor.  School spirit was never in question as raindrops and a hard-fought down to the last minutes football game started to fall for the Phoenixville Area High School Phantoms on Saturday night.

When it was all said and done and played, the first Route 29 Series went to Great Valley 9-1 Friday and Saturday.

Field Hockey and school spirit were the bright spots for the Phantoms in the first annual Route 29 Series which saw every fall varsity sports team play against Great Valley down the road at Great Valley on Friday and Saturday.

Next year the series moves to Phoenixville where all the games will be played on the Phantoms' home turf.
