Football: Phantoms Drop Season Opener

The team fell to Great Valley 26-13.

The Phantoms drew first blood in their season opener on Friday night, but it wasn’t enough.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Phoenixville Area High School football team led scoring off with an eight-yard touchdown run by senior Sean Hesser, but proceeded to give up 26 consecutive points in losing to Great Valley 26-13.

Phantom senior Ryan Yenchick was responsible for the second Phoenixville touchdown.

Great Valley quarterback Chris Geiss scored four touchdowns in the win, two in the air and a pair on the ground.
