The Modular Classroom Construction Plan for 2 PASD Schools

Here's what to expect when all the pieces-on-wheels are put together.

Two Phoenixville Area School District school buildings are expanding and adding classroom space with modular buildings that arrived on wheels and will be ready in time for new teacher orientation next month.

School District Spokeswoman Sandra Claus tells Phoenixville Patch the modular building at East Pikeland Elementary School will house four new fifth grade classrooms.  The new modular building at the Kindergarten Center will be home to eight new classrooms.

The buildings come in 72 foot-long sections which are then connected to make one new building at each school.

East Pikeland Elementary:

At Eastpikeland Claus tells Patch "the 5th grade classrooms will be housed in the modulars, which include bathroom facilities and air conditioning.  The location will be to the left of the playground—so, if you are on Seven Stars Road, it would be the far side of the building, away from the roads."

The Kindergarten Center:

The Kindergarten Center modulars will also be connected to form one building with bathrooms and eight air conditioned classrooms.

At Both Schools

Claus says both modular buildings "will be assembled in July, with furniture installed the week of August 5th.  All of the classrooms will be ready for teachers by August 14th, which is when our new hires come in for teacher induction.  The first day of school is August 26th."
