All in the community are encouraged to purchase tickets to this special gathering of teachers, administrators, parents and other supporters of education in the Phoenixville area. Guests at the event will enjoy a buffet dinner in the spacious ballroom at Rivercrest.

Both silent and live auctions will be held, with a wide variety of items, including jewelry, sports tickets, restaurant gift certificates, sports memorabilia and much more available to the highest bidder. The highlight of the auction will be a one-week stay at the luxurious Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Other creative items up for bid include “lunch with your principal,” an extra recess pass and graduation VIP parking and seating.

Last year’s dinner was sold out and raised the largest amount of funds yet for the children of the Phoenixville Area School District. The dinner also features a unique opportunity called The Giving Tree. PCEF asks each school principal to create a five-item “wish list” of things the school could use but which are not in the budget. These items, which range in value from $25 to $1,000, are put on the Giving Tree and dinner attendees can choose to fund them.

Some supporters prefer to donate directly to a specific cause rather than purchase an item at the auction, and this allows them to see exactly where their PCEF donation is going. Past Giving Tree items include library book donations, playground equipment, science lab supplies and tennis racquets for the physical education department for example.

This year also features the debut of our sports lounge. Sports enthusiasts can try their hand at three different games in a special area of the ballroom. They will also have ample time to look over the many autographed sports memorabilia items up for auction, displayed in the sports lounge area.

PCEF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports educational opportunities in the Phoenixville area and advocates for a first-rate education for our children. The organization raises monies to support programs and projects not funded by the school district. Among the many programs funded by PCEF are:

  • Mini-grants for teachers at all levels
  • Summer Academics, which provides support for at risk children transitioning from kindergarten to first grade
  • Activities Access Fund, which provides assistance to students who cannot afford the district’s new Pay to Participate fee.
  • Scholarships for preschool students and graduating seniors

PCEF’s goal is to reach every student from pre-school to 12th grade. For more information about PCEF and its mission, please visit our website at www.pcefonline.com.

Tickets to the event are $55 and will not be available at the door. To purchase them, or to donate an item for the auction, please contact Sharon Bauer at PCEF at 610-933-5911, or go to www.pcefonline.com to purchase tickets directly.
