Renaissance Academy Set to 'Haunt' Franklin Commons

For two weeks, the charter will hold a haunted house at the commons.

Ghosts, ghouls, zombies and fiends! For two weekends in October, these creatures will walk the earth at the annual Renaissance Academy Charter School – Haunted House located at the Franklin Commons Education Center, 400 Franklin Avenue, Phoenixville, PA.

This open to the public, high quality event will be held on October 19, 20, 26, and 27, with the doors creaking open at 6:30 p.m. on Fridays and 6 p.m. on Saturdays.

Visitors arriving slightly before start time will be treated to a "flash mob" performance of Michael Jackson's Thriller.  If you are interested in participating in the dance, please contact us at Haunt@rak12.org.

The Haunted House, which the school has been producing since 2006, includes trained live actors, special effects, and well designed sets.  There will be a variety of food available for purchase, as well as temporary tattoos and glow sticks.

Tickets are $8 in advance at www.rak12.org, at Renaissance Academy (40 Pine Crest Street, Phoenixville) or $10 at the door.  As this is a fundraising event, all proceeds benefit the building of Renaissance Academy’s new campus, which will located at Franklin Commons.

On Saturday nights from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., there also will be a craft and activities area for the younger visitors (which does not require a ticket but, as this is a fundraiser, small donations are appreciated).  This area also includes a Halloween-themed children's movie, face-painting, games, crafts, treats, and more.

The Renaissance Academy is a tuition free, award-winning, college prep, charter school for students in grades K-12 in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Its challenging curriculum was designed to encourage students to think objectively and to approach life thoughtfully and creatively. For more information, visit www.rak12.org.
