Some borough kids are about to get a crash course in local politics.
On Thursday, state Rep. Warren Kampf (R-157) will visit Holy Family School to lead a career day session for a lucky third grade class.
Throughout the school year, as a way to expose the kids to the broad range of professions available to them, Jacqueline Dougherty’s class has taken a weekly visit from a parent or member of the community and received a quick lesson on the ins and outs of the guest's profession.
In addition to the horizon-broadening aspects of the experience, Dougherty believes the presentations help provide the kids with the knowledge and skills to become good citizens.
After meeting with the kids this week, Kampf will tour Holy Family and sit down with Principal Anne Marie Braca to discuss issues relevant to the school.
