Vote for PAMS Vocal Ensemble in B101 Contest

For the second time in as many years, a Phoenixville Area Middle School vocal group has been selected as a semi-finalist in the B101 Christmas Choir Competition.

On Tuesday, Dec. 6, the PAMS Vocal Ensemble can be heard at approximately 7 a.m. performing an a cappella version of “Deck the Halls." All voting will take place online, and begins bright and early Tuesday morning and ends at 9 p.m. Tuesday evening. The link to vote for these outstanding performers is here

If they win on Dec. 6, the vocal ensemble group from PAMS will proceed to the next round—but they can’t get there without LOTS of votes!

Winning choirs will have their song featured on B101 during the holidays, and the school music program will receive $5,000. The first-place winners will also win the opportunity of a lifetime—to perform live on stage at the Peter Nero and the Philly Pops Holiday Pops Show. An additional two schools will also be chosen at random to receive a brand new studio piano courtesy of Cunningham Piano.

“We are very excited to have made the semifinals again this year,” said Choir Director Amy Darby. “All of the students worked incredibly hard, and we are very proud of them.” 

The Vocal Ensemble is made up of 34 sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students. They audition in the fall and rehearse after school twice a week. In addition to performing at the school concerts, ensemble members will be caroling for the residents of two assisted living homes in Phoenixville in December, and the group competes annually at Music in the Parks.
