2^nd Annual Going the Distance for Gabby

When: Saturday, Sept. 22. 9 a.m.

Where: The National Christian Conference Center, 1485 Valley Forge Road, Valley Forge, PA 19481

Why Go: Last September 11, Gabby Vogel, of Phoenixville, lost her battle with brain cancer at the age of five. Her parents have started the Get Well Gabby Foundation in hopes of funding a cure so that no more children have to suffer like Gabby did. Come run or walk on these beautiful grounds and support a great cause. For more information on their foundation and this event, please visit their website at www.GetWellGabby.org.

The area where La Taverna was situated has been remodeled & opened up into a Sports Bar with multiple big screen televisions, a dining area, a spot for live entertainment, as well as umbrella-ed tables for outdoor dining. A full menu is available in the bar during the diner's operating hours and scales down into a bar menu with a fine selection. Currently, the establishment is at the mercy of Harrisburg & patiently awaiting the transfer of the liquor license. As you enter through the main doors under the portico, you are greeted by friendly hostesses & the most scrumptious desserts one has ever seen. The baking is done in house and the portions are enormous for the price. A coffee bar is open during the morning hours for those on the go. Taking the place of the exercise room one can now enjoy a full diner menu with breakfast served ALL day long. The menu also includes tasty Greek delicacies including spinach pie and pastichio. For a new establishment with a new wait staff & cooks, the food was served hot & was absolutely delicious. All of the servers were extremely efficient & friendly considering the pace at which the diner filled up. Cash & credit are accepted. Also heard that there will be rooms available for business meeting, private dinners, & small parties! Perfect location with parking, delicious food, & friendly staff/owners!
