Phantoms Hosting Youth Football Clinic

Coach Bill Furlong and his team will teach 7-13 year olds the game on July 14.

To be the best, you have to learn from the best.

If they’re not available, go with the second best.

According to the indispensible Phoenixville Does, the 2011 District 1 AAA runner-up Phoenixville High School football team is hosting a youth clinic on July 14 at Washington Field. The clinic is for boys aged 7 to 13, and will be run by Phantoms’ head coach Bill Furlong, as well as a team of his assistants and players.

All a young player needs to participate is athletic clothes, sneakers, sunscreen, a water bottle, and a $10 donation to the team. The clinic fee includes a hot dog, chips, and a drink.

The session will be non-contact, and will focus on the fundamental skills of the game, both offensive and defensive. It will end with a flag football game.
