Summer Lifesavers...Really!

Award winning author, Tom Palumbo, presents a host of summer projects for children and their parents. These ideas will make a difference in the way everyone reads, writes, and thinks creatively.

  An Award Winning Author's
100 Point Summer Challenge

As summer vacation starts, parents all over the Delaware Valley are asking what can I do to keep my children mentally active and challenged over the summer. The document that follows was attached to our school report card and parents were asked to participate in 'The One Hundred Point Challenge' with their children.

Copy the challenges below and put a five or checkmark next to each project completed. Don't do this challenge as a task. The ideas are meant to be enjoyable and enriching challenges for the whole family.

Here is what was said in the introduction to parents and students:

Your creative projects challenge for the summer is to accumulate 100 points by scoring five points for each mission/project that you complete below. In September when you arrive in your new classroom you will discuss, write about, and illustrate your five best adventures. Try to challenge yourself by selecting the adventures that will really bring out your spirit of adventure, artistic products, best critical thinking, and unique problem solving skills.
