Help Beautify the North Side Saturday

A cleanup event will take place in the morning.

As Phoenixville Town Watch , every little bit helps.

Phoenixville resident Jon Ichter agrees, and he’d like to start a regular cleanup effort on the north side of the borough. On Saturday, volunteers will hit Mowere Road from 8 a.m. to noon armed with bags and gloves. Ichter hopes the event will help show off the north’s “undiscovered beauty” and also provide a way for all residents to pitch in.

“In my recent campaign for borough council I spoke to a lot of folks who seemed passionate about their community and willing to get involved if opportunities were presented.,” Ichter said. “I am hoping to create an opportunity for individuals, families, friends, etc. to get together on a somewhat regular basis and make a positive impact on the area in which they live.”

He called Saturday a “trial run” and though volunteers will meet at Veterans Park across from the Northridge Village development at 8 a.m., anyone can join at any time throughout the morning.

“For our first event I picked a main thoroughfare so that volunteers can find us easily during any time of the four hours,” Ichter said. “Bags and gloves will be the only things provided so I am recommending bringing water or something to drink.”
