It's a Wrap: Christmas Program Celebrates Success

Families had Christmas celebrations thanks to a local program.

When John Colarusso came into his business, , to take care of the seasonal tree business, he noticed something different.

There were presents set out on the bench in front, set to go to one local woman's mission to assure that local families have Christmas celebrations, sitting there, waiting to be wrapped.

"It was just a nice feeling, that when we were sleeping, Santa came," Colarusso said.

As a Michael Buble Christmas album played, volunteers wrapped the 250 plus toys dropped off by good Samaritans. The program, started by Jennifer Daywalt, collected toys for 33 kids and 14 families.

Electronic gadgets were among the most requested items. The drive also collected food to give families in the area a Christmas dinner. Daywalt said it was the most successful gift drive she's ever had.
