Kiwanis Club Members Present Check to Firebird Theatre

The funds came from a recent spaghetti dinner and silent auction.

Editor's Note: The following was submitted on behalf of the Kiwanis Club of Phoenixville. 

The Kiwanis Club of Phoenixville recently presented a check for more than $6,600 to officers of the Firebird Children’s Theatre. 

The check represented half of the net proceeds of the held in early February at the Kimberton Fire Company. Over the years, the Kiwanis Club has held these events with various community partners to assist in the building of playgrounds, support summer recreation program scholarships, the Phoenixville Library’s Summer Reading Program and The Clinic.

The Kiwanis Club partnered this year with the Firebird Children’s Theatre to assist them with raising funds to make it possible for more children of the Phoenixville area to experience the enriching experience of theater participation. 

Co-chaired by Kiwanis President-elect Larry Gubanich and President Janet Hoehl of the Firebird Theatre, the event attracted hundreds of people and brought in more than $13,000 to benefit the two organizations’ programs.
