Painting the Town Green: Phoenixville Green Earth Festival

Exhibitors and sponsors are still welcome for this event on Aug. 6.

The Phoenixville Green Team is seeking sponsors and exhibitors for its big event, the Phoenixville Green Earth Festival.

In its second year, the event promotes natural, sustainable practices that are friendly to the planet. This year, the Green Team will join forces with Phoenixville Farmers’ Market for the festival, which will be held next to the market’s location under the Gay Street high bridge on Aug. 6. Last year, the festival was held on a Friday night.

“They learned a lot from that experience,” said Danielle Cowan, a member of The Phoenixville Green Team.

Now, the festival will take place on a Saturday morning, and having it in affiliation with the farmers’ market seemed like an ideal fit, according to Cowan. The festival will feature family-friendly events along with speakers and vendors. Though still in the planning stages, Cowan said a clothing swap and possibly a scavenger hunt for the kids are in the works. Kids will likely also have the opportunity to work on recycled art projects.

“There’s something for everyone,” she said.

The Green Team is hoping to add more vendors to the roster, and the team is also hoping to get more sponsors. Current sponsors include Sun Power Builders, the Phoenixville Farmers’ Market and The Colonial Theatre.

The exhibitor fee is $50, and vendors can register online or by mail through July 29. The group hopes to have all sponsors together by July 22. Sponsorships start at $100, and you can find more information on The Phoenixville Green Team website.

The Phoenixville Green Team helps promote green living in the Phoenixville area. Those interested in joining or helping out with the festival can also find out more on the website.
