Phoenixville 'Relay for Life' Raises $80K

The event was held at Valley Forge Christian College.

“Even though our event is over,” Relay for Life of Phoenixville chair Jennifer Epps said during the 2012 relay's May 13 closing ceremonies, “the fight against cancer continues.”

But what an event it was.

This past weekend at Valley Forge Christian College, participants from across the borough and beyond brought in $80,392 to benefit the American Cancer Society. The fundraising goal for the year is $102,000, and donations will be collected through August.

As for the Phoenixville iteration, Epps recognized a group of students from Phoenixville Area High School who helped set-up for the relay.
