Prudential Employees to Help Clean Up Youth Club

Company Volunteer Day Saturday is part of a national effort.

Editor's Note: Prudential provided the following information to Phoenixville Patch.

A group of local professionals are dedicating Saturday, September 28 to help the Phoenixville Marian Youth Club, and join a national volunteer effort in the process.

Prudential employees and their families will be spending more than four hours cleaning up youth fields and the Clubhouse at the 54-year-old Phoenixville Marian Youth Club, which presents sports activities to enrich the lives of the children in Phoenixville.

The volunteer effort is part of the company’s 19th Annual Global Volunteer Day.  Global Volunteer Day was introduced in October 1995 to celebrate and encourage employee volunteerism.

Last year, more than 20,000 people participated in 750 Global Volunteer Day projects in the United States and 11 other countries where Prudential has a business presence.

In addition, Global Volunteer Day projects that meet certain criteria are eligible to receive $1,000 Challenge Grants for the nonprofit organizations they support. Since its inception in 1996, the Global Volunteer Day Challenge Grant Program has provided more than $2.7 million to community organizations.
