Taste of Phoenixville Raises $40K for Shelter
The event, in its 10th year, was another success for Good Samaritan Shelter.
Bringing out more than 400 people, this year’s A Taste of Phoenixville event offered up great food and music for a good cause.
Calling the event a “huge success,” Dan Lamson, development assistant at , said the 10th annual Taste of Phoenixville was the biggest yet. Lamson explained:
We had a very fun (and very close!) friendly competition between the restaurants, where our guest voted for their favorite. No restaurant got more than 6 percent of the vote, so I think it shows that one highlight of the event was the quality of all out vendors.

Another highlight was testimonial from a former resident, which inspired all that heard it. And finally, our band was amazing this year.
A Taste of Phoenixville brings together local vendors and serves as Good Samaritan Shelter’s biggest event of the year. This year's event raised more than $40,000 for the shelter. It was held on Thursday, Jan. 19 at . helped coordinate the event.

The seven-bed men’s shelter located on High Street in Phoenixville was founded in 1999. Additionally, last year Good Samaritan Shelter acquired another location in Ephrata, where it serves women and children.
