Whodunit? PACS Murder Mystery Dinner Coming Up
PACS' "Karaoke Killer!" to dish out main course of mystery and a heaping helping of community service.
This month, a killer lurks in the corridors of RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve. Perhaps it's Col. Mustard in the library with a lead pipe? Or Miss Scarlet in the Ballroom with a candlestick?
Don't expect the solution to be so simple when Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS) presents its Fourth Annual Murder Mystery Comedy Dinner Show and Auction, “Karaoke Killer!,” on Friday, March 26.
Actors from Phoenixville's will keep guests guessing throughout dinner and dessert with their interactive performance. Don't worry though—no one in the audience will be asked to sing for his or her supper. Instead, the 150 or so amateur sleuths will be challenged to solve the crime themselves for a chance at prizes.

Between courses and clues, guests are invited to bid on silent auction items, including lavish gift baskets donated by local businesses and a hot-air balloon ride.
Sponsored by Phoenixville Federal Bank & Trust, the event benefits PACS and helps further its mission of “connecting people in the Phoenixville area with community resources and emergency assistance."

The services PACS offers to Phoenixville's neediest run the gamut from assistance in filling out unemployment or LIHEAP forms to providing food from its pantry. Despite a staff of only five, PACS has arranged for emergency fuel oil delivery in the winter and passed out fans in the summer. Area service organizations provide a lot of support, but fundraisers like the murder mystery dinner and next month's American Classic Festival & Jerry Blavat Dance Party (April 2) are also integral to PACS' ability to help others.
“We have been seeing the number of people who need our services increase,” said PACS Executive Director Carol Berger. “People are obviously still struggling and we're doing our best to keep pace with a larger number of people in need. We rely on fundraisers like this to stay in business and continue to assist our neighbors in need.”
The annual murder mystery dinner is organized by a volunteer fundraising committee, chaired by PACS board member Mary McGown. “We love our volunteers!” she said. Berger agreed that the committee has done a “fantastic job getting the word out and taking care of all the little details.”
Budding Sherlocks can purchase tickets to “Karaoke Killer!” for $75 per person by e-mail or phone: 610-933-1105. For more information, visit the PACS Web site.
