Wreaths Across America Returns to Valley Forge Park

Volunteers are needed for the project, which helps supply wreaths for the graves of veterans throughout the country.

Valley Forge National Historical Park representatives are hoping volunteers will come out on Friday and Saturday to help with the Wreaths Across America program.

According to the park's events page, 2,000 wreaths will be placed around the National Memorial Arch, and these will stay in place through mid-January. The wreaths will honor the more than 2,000 people who perished during the winter encampment on the site. The Wreaths Across America program began in 1992 and comes to Valley Forge thanks to a PECO Energy grant, according to the park's website.

Please bring your family and friends and join us as we honor our Veterans. This is a great opportunity to involve the younger members of your family in an event that they may well remember for years to come.

If you want to volunteer to help on both or either day, please e-mail Valley Forge NHP Volunteer Program Manager at ernestine_white@nps.gov or call 610-783-5384.
