Code Blue, Cancellations, Snow Emergencies

Heavy snow fall prompted local governments to take emergency steps Tuesday afternoon to handle the snow and keep people as safe as possible.

Phoenixville Borough Municipal Building Closed at 12 noon.

Phoenixville has declared a code blue emergency.

According to the Borough website: Code Blue was declared on 1/21/2014 at 12pm and is in effect until 1/23/2014 at 9am. Emergency Sheltering will be located at the Phoenixville Civic Center, at 123 Main Street, in Phoenixville.

Residents requiring assistance or special needs requiring transportation should contact the Phoenixville Borough Police Department at 610-935-2440 to request assistance. 
East Pikeland has decalred a Snow Emergency

East Pikeland Townshjp Manager Kim Moretti tells Patch "we strongly encourage residents to remain at home and stay off of the roads so that the Public Works Department can safely treat the roads.  Residents are also encouraged NOT to park on the streets.  Vehicles parked on a Snow Emergency Routes will be cited by the Police Department."

The Phoenixville Area School District Board Budget Committee Meeting for Tuesday night (1/21) has been postponed due to inclement weather.  The meeting will now be held on Tuesday, January 28th at 6:00 PM in the District Admin Board Room.
