PAHS Theater Plans Roaring Good Time for Audiences

Phoenixville Area High School's Fall drama production takes the stage this weekend.

Editor's note: The following announcement was provided by the PASD

PAHS Theatre Guild would like to invite all to The  Mouse That Roared, November 15th, 16th, and 17th, at the Phoenixville High School Auditorium.

This hilarious comedy, adapted for stage by Christopher Sergel from the book by Leonard Wibberley, follows the fate of The Grand Duchy of Fenwick, which is in dire economic straits because its primary export and source of revenue, “Pinot Grand Fenwick,” is being  bootlegged by a California winery.  When diplomatic attempts to curtail this illegal activity fail, the tiny country declares war on the United States—hoping to lose so that they can get war reparations as was done under the Marshall Plan.  The plan goes awry when the tiny expeditionary force, outfitted in chain mail and armed with bows and arrows, actually wins the war by capturing the most powerful bomb ever made.

Charming and family friendly, this play will enchant all ages.  In a world where wars are all too real, this theatrical gem offers a gentle and humorous take on a world where might doesn’t make right, and honor prevails.

The Mouse That Roared will run November 15 and 16th at 7 pm, and November 17th at 2 pm, in the Phoenixville High School Auditorium.  Tickets – $5 for students and $7 for adults – will be available at the door or on Seat Yourself at http://www.pasd.k12.pa.us/page/418.
