Virginia “Jinny” Miller MacLelland, 83, wife, mother, grandmother and community volunteer, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2013, surrounded by her family. Born in Somerton, PA, the youngest daughter of Jane and Jacob Miller, she graduated from Girls’ High and Brown Preparatory School in Philadelphia. Jinny was the beloved wife of Robert MacLelland Jr. for sixty years. The couple celebrated their milestone anniversary in January at The Greenbriar Resort in West Virginia. David H. Katz, 72, husband of Susan I. (Rea) Katz, of Phoenixville, PA, died on Friday, April 26, 2013 in Devon Manor. Born in New Britain, CT, he was the son of the late Leon and Sophie (Feinblum) Katz. David served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was an Associate Professor at the Community College of Philadelphia for 40 years. According to an article on the College website, Katz retired from his position as an English professor in 2008. Prof. Katz was a member of the Phoenixville Senior Center and the Phoenixville Hospital Senior Circle.
