Apple Slices Recalled at McDonalds, Burger King, Wawa, and Others

A New Jersey Company is recalling almost 300,000 cases of packaged products that contain sliced and diced apples.

Missa Bay, LLC, is voluntarily recalling a total of 293,488 cases and 296,224 individually distributed units of fruit, vegetable, and sandwich products containing apples because they might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes which can cause fever, muscle aches and gastro intestinal symptoms such as nausea and diarrhea. The recalled foods containing diced or sliced apples have Use-by dates of July 8, 2012 through August 20, 2012.   There is a Wawa at 210 Schuylkill Road and a Burger King at 363 Schuylkill Road. The recalled products were produced and distributed from the Missa Bay, LLC facility to retailers and foodservice operators in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Washington D…
