Donald Schnovel, the 80-year-old Phoenixville man who was arrested in February of 2012 on charges of sexually assaulting and taking pornographic photos of a then-14-year-old girl, was sentenced to 10 to 20 years in prison on Thursday, The Mercury is reporting. Schnovel pleaded guilty to criminal charges on Dec. 5. As reported by Phoenixville Patch, on Nov. 21, 2011, the then-14-year-old girl told a corporal with the Phoenixville Police Department that Schnovel, a family friend, had performed numerous sexual acts with her.
