Police Investigate Burglary in East Pikeland

Someone smashed a basement window to enter a local house, police say.

  East Pikeland Police are searching for a culprit or culprits in a burglary that happened sometime Monday or Tuesday. According to police, "someone entered a home in the first block of Ruth Avenue by breaking a basement window. They removed cash, cell phone and a wallet." Anyone with information about the burglary should send an anonymous e-mail to East Pikeland police or call the police station at 610-935-0606.

Phoenixville Woman Arrested During Car Stop

The woman's troubles began when the officer asked for her license and registration.

  A 24-year-old Phoenixville woman is facing charges of receiving stolen property following a traffic stop by East Pikeland Police. East Pikeland police charged the woman from Third Avenue in Phoenixville "with receiving stolen property after she was stopped for being in possession of a stolen Pennsylvania registration." According to East Pikeland police, she was processed and released pending a hearing at a later date.

Father and Son Hospitalized After Fight, East Pikeland Police Report

The son, 22, was charged with aggravated assault.

The following incidents were reported by the East Pikeland Township Police Department. Arrest, when mentioned, does not suggest conviction. Aggravated Assault On Saturday at approximately 4 a.m., East Pikeland Police received a report of a fight between a father and son on the unit block of Bonnie Brae Road. After a brief investigation, police say, they arrested a 22-year-old resident of the home and charged him with aggravated assault, possession of instruments of crime, unlawful restraint, simple assault, recklessly endangering another, harassment. The defendant and his father were both treated at Phoenixville Hospital and released. The defendant was confined to Chester County Prison when he was unable to post $20,000 bail. Disorderly …

Heroin Sting Nets 2 Phoenixville Dealers, DA Says

Police say the case started after parents found their daughter dead in her bedroom.

Two men police say were drug dealers operating out of the Phoenixville area were arrested and charged as part of a countywide crackdown on the heroin trade, the Chester County District Attorney’s Office announced on Monday. District Attorney Tom Hogan said that heroin is a drug that, owing to its unique addictive potential, deserves special attention from parents and law enforcement. In 2012 alone, there were 34 recorded deaths in Chester County where the deceased had heroin in their system. “Chester County law enforcement is cracking down on heroin dealers. Two Charged with DUI, East Pikeland Police Say

The incidents occurred on Sunday and Wednesday.

The following incidents were reported by the East Pikeland Police Department. Arrest, when mentioned, does not suggest conviction. DUI at Clark's Auto On Wednesday at approximately 1:45 a.m., East Pikeland Police charged a 26-year-old Royersford man with DUI. Police say the defendant was observed parked in Clark’s Auto, intoxicated. The man was charged and released pending a hearing. Schuylkill Road DUI On Sunday at approximately 12:30 a.m., East Pikeland police charged a 23-year-old Phoenixville man with D.U.I. and related offenses. The defendant was observed crossing the yellow line while traveling east on Schuylkill Road near Bonnie Brae Road crossing the center yellow line. The man was charged and released pending a hearing.

Hit-and-Run Truck Driver Sought in East Pikeland Crash

A man driving a green truck knocked over a light post in the Pikeland Village Square parking lot, police say.

The following incidents were reported by the East Pikeland Police Department. Arrest, when mentioned, does not suggest conviction. Light Post Damage On Friday at approximately 6:40 p.m., someone backed into a light post in the Pikeland Village Square parking lot, located on the 500 block of Kimberton Road, according to East Pikeland Police. The driver knocked the light post down and left the scene without reporting the accident, police say. Estimated damage is about $4,000. Police say the man was driving a green pickup truck. Man Falls Asleep at Wheel, Gets DUI, Police Say

When asked for his license, the defendant tried to hand the officer a $20 bill, according to police.

A 22-year-old Phoenixville man was charged with DUI after police say they found him asleep at the wheel of a running vehicle at the intersection of Route 23 and Mowere Road. On March 18 at 2:39 a.m., an East Pikeland Police officer watched a green Mazda sit motionless on Mowere Road, facing Route 23, while the traffic light twice cycled from red to green. According to court documents, the officer activated his emergency lights and approached the car. Inside, he found the driver asleep, with the car running and in drive and the man’s foot on the brake. Rash of Thefts from Vehicles in East Pikeland

Police are asking for help catching the thief.

East Pikeland Police are investigating a rash of car thefts that occurred in the township recently, and they’re asking for your help. Seven cars were broken into on the 900 block of Spring City Road, according to the department. Money was stolen from the glove boxes and console areas of the vehicles.
