The monthly street festival starts back up again this weekend. Bring your pet.
It's one of Phoenixville's most popular monthly events and First Friday celebrations resume for the 2013 season on Friday. The street and music festival runs from 6-10 p.m. on Bridge Street between Gay and Starr streets. A map of venues along Bridge Street is available here on the First Friday website. May's First Friday also features the annual pet stroll so this is the time to bring your pet to Bridge Street. April showers don't stop crews from posting a sign that a rite of spring and summer is coming this weekend.
Nothing says warm spring and summer weather like First Fridays in Phoenixville. A sure sign of the season sprung up on the grass along Bridge Street at the end of Starr St/PA 29 as a crew lit up the portable sign announcing that "First Friday is Back!! The Phoenixville Business Association will award prizes on April 5 for the best looking umbrellas.
Hopefully there won't be any April showers on April 5, but if there are, the PABA has you covered. On the first First Friday of 2013, the Phoenixville Business Association is holding an umbrella decorating contest for children aged pre-school to grade 5. To enter, interested families can bring their decorated umbrella(s) to the Kiwanis Children's Plaza on Friday, April 5th at 6:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers, and snacks will be provided for all.
