Girl Scout Robber Confesses, Police Say

The 31-year-old former Berwyn resident is charged in other recent incidents, too.

Tredyffrin Township police on Wednesday announced an arrest, and a confession, in the Jan. 20 robbery from a Girl Scout cookie sale at the Berwyn Pathmark, according to TE Patch. Jevon Michael Avis, 31, of Carlisle, and formerly of the 300 block of Beechwood Avenue in Berwyn, was arrested Tuesday evening. He admitted stealing from the scouts in an interview with a police detective, police say. Avis is charged with robbery and related crimes in that case, as well as facing charges in a purse-snatching that happened Monday at Pathmark. His arraignment and preliminary hearing in Devon District Court are pending. The Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ offers camp options focused on activities and experiences that will help young girls build courage, confidence and character.

Although it is cold and blustery out, parents and children all over New Jersey are already exploring summer camp options. In a time where costs are skyrocketing and everything is becoming more and more expensive, it is comforting to know that girls can still have an affordable and amazing experience this summer at camp offered by the Girl Scouts. If you have ever gone to summer camp you probably have fond memories of sitting around the camp fire roasting marshmallows, singing everywhere you went, making new best friends and spending sunny days underneath the trees. Local Girl Scout Troop to Set Up Cookie Booth Outside Acme

The girls from Daisy Troop 4400 be be at Acme on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sweet tooth? The local girl scouts from Daisy Troop 4400 will be outside the Phoenixville Acme tomorrow selling cookies. Hurry up though, because the troop will only be at the store from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Local Girl Scouts Hit the Trails at Valley Forge

The scouts celebrated National Trails Day and the 100th anniversary of the girl scouts.

Editor’s Note: The following was provided by the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania (GSEP). VALLEY FORGE, Pa — As part of its centennial celebration, the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania (GSEP) celebrated National Trails Day with a special outdoor education and nature appreciation event for Girl Scouts from across eastern Pennsylvania on June 2. Girl Scouts and their friends and families enjoyed a series of activities like hikes, a Trails Fair, health and wellness education, conservation/wildlife & safety educational clinics and volunteer plant cleanup for older Scouts. GSEP celebrated its 100th Anniversary with a birthday cake cutting ceremony.
