New Italian Restaurant Coming to Phoenixville

Dominic's Italian Ristorante is prepping to open up shop in town.

Dominic's Italian Ristorante is scheduled to open in early April, taking over the former spot of creole restaurant Daddy Mims, according to Philly.com.  The Italian restaurant is the newest project of John Mims—owner of Daddy Mims and currently helping manage The Columbia Hotel—and partner Dominic Gammaro.   According to Philly.com, the new Italian restaurant will be "decorated like an old church" and will specialize in pasta dishes. An opening date of April 4 has been scheduled, reports Philly.com.

Review of a Bakery in Phoenixville: Brick Oven Bread and Cheese Shoppe

A cozy choice for local and organic cheese, bread and smoked meat sits in downtown Phoenixville.

As a bread and cheese enthusiast, I heard about a new bread and cheese shop in Phoenixville. I wanted to further investigate this new addition to Phoenixville's downtown. When I walked through the threshold of Brick Oven, a bakery in Phoenixville, I was immediately transported into an international bakery. As I found a seat, I overheard a customer from across the room note, "I feel like I'm in Paris, France." Even though Brick Oven had western European decor, the atmosphere had a "local corner shop" essence to it.
