Road Rage Incident Lands Phoenixville Man in Jail

Police say 27-year-old Eric Pyne pointed a gun at a man who passed him on Ridge Pike in Lower Providence.

Lower Providence Police arrested a Phoenixville man on Friday for pointing a gun at another driver who passed him on Ridge Pike in the Collegeville section of Lower Providence. According to the Lower Providence Police Department, officers were dispatched for an incident at Ridge Pike and Level Road on Friday, March 29. On the scene, they spoke with the victim who reported that he was travelling on Ridge Pike when he passed a red Ford Explorer. The victim said the driver of the Explorer gave him the middle finger as he passed and when the two came to stop at a red light at Level Road, the man pointed a semi-automatic handgun at him. Police were able to locate the Explorer and the driver on Egypt Road. He was identified as 27-year-old Eric …

Police: $300 Worth of Copper Leads to Car Chase and Attempted River Escape

Lower Providence Police led the chase of alleged copper thieves, which ended in an attempted swim escape across the Schuylkill River.

Lower Providence Police report that the discovery of an attempted theft of approximately $300 worth of copper piping from the Collegeville Inn, resulted in a multi-municipal police car chase, after which, one of the suspects attempted to elude authorities by swimming across the Schuylkill River.  The incident was reported on December 28, when Lower Providence Police officer Jeremy Bonner was on routine patrol at approximately 9:32 a.m. The officer observed a length of rope hanging between the rear door of the Collegeville Inn, located at 4000 Ridge Pike in the Collegeville section of the township. Upon investigating, the officer found the rope opened the door when pulled. Inside the doorway, a large amount of copper piping was placed. …

Police: Motorist Caught with Secret ‘007’ Heroin Stash

Lower Providence Police reportedly found heroin named ‘007’ in a motorist’s vehicle, after a traffic stop.

According to Lower Providence Police, Richard Marshall Leibried, Jr., 24, was reportedly found with several small bags of heroin, each stamped with “007,” as well as a needle in his sock, after being pulled over for erratic driving earlier this month. Leibried, of the 1700 block of Meadowview Lane in Mont Clare, was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, along with other related charges. According to a Lower Providence police report, on Dec. 14, at approximately 8 p.m., Cpl. Michael Slattery was on routine patrol, traveling eastbound in the area of the 2600 block of Egypt Road. Thank you for the article and naabt's post above. For so many addicts, their new life begins with their arrest for possession of drugs. My hope for this young man is that a judge will offer him a choice between long term treatment or jail time and that the chooses treatment and applies himself to his own recovery program.
