According to a report on our sister-site Malvern Patch, bomb squads from Montgomery County and Philadelphia visited Frazer on Thursday night after a series of explosions occurred in the early evening. According to the report: Multiple explosive devices found at the Public Storage facility in Frazer were hauled away by Montgomery County and Philadelphia bomb squads. Tredyffrin Township police on Wednesday announced an arrest, and a confession, in the Jan. 20 robbery from a Girl Scout cookie sale at the Berwyn Pathmark, according to TE Patch. Jevon Michael Avis, 31, of Carlisle, and formerly of the 300 block of Beechwood Avenue in Berwyn, was arrested Tuesday evening. He admitted stealing from the scouts in an interview with a police detective, police say. Avis is charged with robbery and related crimes in that case, as well as facing charges in a purse-snatching that happened Monday at Pathmark. His arraignment and preliminary hearing in Devon District Court are pending. Sean Quinn, 46, died Monday morning of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Philadelphia's FDR Park, township police said.
Ardmore-Merion-Wynnewood Patch is reporting that 46-year-old Lower Merion police officer Sean Quinn was found dead Monday morning in South Philadelphia. Quinn died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Lower Merion Police Superintendent Michael McGrath. The township released the following statement at 12:23 p.m. Monday: Lower Merion Police Superintendant Michael McGrath regrets to report that Officer Sean Quinn, a respected veteran of the force, was found this morning deceased as the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Kayla M. Buddy, of Perkiomen Township, was 17.
Perkiomen Valley High School Junior Kayla M. Buddy, 17, lost her battle with cystic fibrosis on Jan. 30 at the Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania. Buddy was a member of the PVHS Key Club, a volunteer organization, and she was very artistic, according to her obituary on Legacy.com. Buddy is survived by her father and mother, John and Christine, brother Sean and sister Julianna. Cystic Fibrosis is a chronic, progressive disease of the body’ mucus glands, that primarily affects the respiratory and digestive systems in children and young adults, according to genomics.energy.gov.
