Beccaria died April 5.

Anna T. (Mele) Beccaria, 95, wife of the late John Dominic Beccaria, of Phoenixville, formerly Philadelphia, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013, in the Phoenixville Hospital.  Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ida (Ratti) Mele.  Mrs. Beccaria was currently a member of St. Basil the Great R.C. Church, Kimberton.  In prior years, she had been a longtime volunteer with Aid For Friends, Philadelphia and Immaculate Mary Home in Philadelphia. Mrs. Beccaria is survived by her son, Dr. Louis J. Beccaria, of Phoenixville;  grandchildren, David, husband of Susie Beccaria and Andrea Beccaria, of Wilmington, DE; grandchildren, Avery Grace and Ellie Lourdes; niece Eileen Clark; nephews, Carl Iacovelli, George Beccaria …

Kassel passed away on March 29.

Dorothy A. (Bean) Kassel, age 80, wife of the late Martin C. Kassel, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 29, 2013 in the George Washington University Hospital, Washington, D.C., with her daughters at her side. Born in Royersford, PA, she was a daughter of the late Norman A. and Mabel (Umstead) Bean. She was also predeceased by a sister, Sara M. Bean and a brother, Joseph U. Bean.  Dorothy (Dot) is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Kassel, wife of Joseph Gruber of Washington, D.C. and Margaret, wife of Matthew Troncelliti of Ardmore, PA; four grandchildren, Abraham and Imogene Gruber and Ryan and Kate Troncelliti; many nieces and nephews and their families.  Dot was a 1951 graduate of Royersford High School. …

Prizer passed away on March 23.

David R. Prizer, 84, of South Coventry, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013 in the Seasons Hospice, Phoenixville, PA.  He was the husband of Phyllis (Heebner) Prizer.  Born in Pughtown, he was the son of Raymond E. and Anne (Yeager) Prizer. Mr. Prizer was a graduate of the former Warwick High School class of 1946 and received a degree in business from Penn State University.  He served in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carrier the Kula Gulf. David was owner of Prizers Appliances, Inc. until his retirement in 1995. McCarraher passed away on March 3.

Kenneth B. McCarraher Sr., 86, husband of the late Alice L. (Eichholz) McCarraher, of Phoenixville, passed away on Sunday evening, March 3, 2013, in the Seasons Hospice, Phoenixville.  Born in Collegeville, he was the son of the late Frank and Leona (Walters) McCarraher.  Mr. McCarraher was a graduate of Spring City High School.  He served with the United States Army Infantry from October 1944 through November 1946 in Korea and the Philippines during World War II.  Ken reached the rank of Staff Sergeant in intelligence and received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart from an injury sustained during an airstrike.  Mr. McCarraher was a member of the Phoenixville VFW and the Spring City American Legion. The Phoenixville native was a retired from his job of 43 years at the Container Corporation of America in Oaks.

John A. Krause, Jr., husband of the late Genevieve M. (Trzcecinski) Krause, of Phoenixville, died suddenly on Saturday morning, February 16, 2013 in the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late John A. Krause, Sr. and the late Susan (Jurata) Krause. A veteran, he served for the U.S. National Guard. Atkinson passed away on Feb. 14.

Robert F. Atkinson, 85, beloved husband of Doris (McDaniel) Atkinson, of Royersford, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013, in the Einstein Medical Center Montgomery.  Born in Stowe, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Grace (Vroman) Atkinson. Mr. Atkinson was a 1945 graduate of Phoenixville High School and attended Spring Garden Institute in Philadelphia.  He served with the SeaBees in the United States Navy during the latter part of World World II while stationed in Okinawa and Guam. Patrick J. Palmer, 58, husband of Joanne (Cunfer) Palmer, of Royersford, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 7, 2013 in the Pottstown Memorial Medical Center. Born in Pottsville, PA he was the son of the late Margaret “Peggy” (Palmer) Hoinski and the eldest of siblings, brothers Edmond, Michael, and Bill.  Raised in Shenandoah, he was president of his senior class at Shenandoah Valley High School and graduated in 1972. While in high school, he was a dedicated member of the football, basketball, and track teams. He held a school record in shot put and scored the winning touchdown in the last game of his high school career.   In 1985, his life changed tremendously when he received God’s grace with a spiritual awakening.  From that …
