A 20-year-old Delaware County man is facing felony statutory rape charges for having sex with a 14-year-old Phoenixville teen. According to an affidavit of probable cause filed in the court case, the two met through an online dating service. Police say that teen initiated contact with Alexander Stinger of Upper Darby through the website back in "July/August 2012." According to police, the girl told Stinger that she was 14 and "Stinger told her that he did not care about her age." A man and woman who accompanied an alleged drug dealer to 7-Eleven were charged with drug possession, police say.
A man and woman from Pottstown have been hit with drug charges for their role in an April drug bust that occurred at a Phoenixville 7-Eleven, police are reporting. On April 12, Joseph Merrill McIntosh, a Philadelphia man who police say sells heroin in the Phoenixville area, was arrested at the 7-Eleven on the 200 block of Nutt Road after he attempted to deliver two bundles of heroin to a prospective customer who was working with authorities as an informant, police say. The two new charges in the case were levied against a 23-year-old Pottstown man and a 22-year-old Pottstown woman who police say accompanied him during the deal. A 59-year-old Phoenixville man is in Chester County Prison after police say he assaulted his wife and threatened to stab her during an argument in their Garfield Avenue home. On April 16 at 2:39 p.m., Phoenixville Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Garfield Avenue for a report of a domestic assault. According to court documents, the defendant’s wife told police that she and her husband were having an argument about how much alcohol he had consumed that day when he struck her in the head. The victim also alleged that her husband pulled out a knife and threatened to stab her with it, police say. The man was arrested and charged with terroristic theats, simple assault, and harassment. Two men police say were drug dealers operating out of the Phoenixville area were arrested and charged as part of a countywide crackdown on the heroin trade, the Chester County District Attorney’s Office announced on Monday. District Attorney Tom Hogan said that heroin is a drug that, owing to its unique addictive potential, deserves special attention from parents and law enforcement. A $2,500 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of a man Phoenixville Police believe robbed the Main Street branch of Phoenixville Federal Bank on Feb. 20, then again on Tuesday of last week. Police say the robber is a white male who is approximately 5-feet-10-inches to 6-feet-tall with dark hair. (Images of the man captured by the bank's security camera are attached to this article.) A Philadelphia man was arrested after police say an informant set up the Friday night deal.
A 30-year-old Philadelphia man is in Chester County Prison after police say he sold heroin to an informant behind a Nutt Road convenience store last week. On Friday at approximately 5 p.m., under the direction of Chester County Detectives and Phoenixville Police, an informant called Joseph Merrill McIntosh and asked for heroin. According to court documents, McIntosh agreed to sell the informant two bundles of heroin in exchange for cash. A short while later, McIntosh pulled into the 7-Eleven parking lot on the 200 block of Nutt Road, where he had agreed to meet the customer, and called the informant's cell phone to let him know he was there, police say. Police believe it was the same man who robbed the Main Street bank on Feb. 20.
For the second time in eight weeks, Phoenixville Federal Bank and Trust on Main Street was robbed, Phoenixville Police are confirming. The department believes the same man was responsible for both robberies. According to Sgt. Joseph Nemic, who is investigating the case, sometime before 11:55 a.m., a white male in his early 20s entered the bank, threatened employees with a black revolver, and demanded money from a teller. The robber, who police say is approximately 5'10" to 6'0" with dark hair, concealed his face with the collar of his jacket, but was captured by the bank's security camera. Michael Lance caused more than $5,600 to four parked cars, according to police.
Looks like trouble has found Michael Lance again. The 27-year-old Phoenixville man who was charged with multiple felony drug charges last month after police busted an apparent marijuana growing operation police say he and his twin brother were operating out of their Buchannan Street apartment, was hit with another felony on Tuesday. The crime this time? According to Phoenixville Police he was kicking cars. On March 23 at approximately 2:22 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of Washington Avenue and Gay Street for a report of three men in dark clothing randomly kicking cars.
