Trampolines sold exclusively at Sports Authority and manufactured by Sportspower are being recalled for an injury hazard. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission's recall, the trampoline's metal legs can move out of position and puncture the jumping area, posing a risk of injury to children and adults on the trampoline. There has been one incident of the trampoline leg separating from the frame whie in use. No injuries have been reported. The trampolines were sold at Sports Authority stores nationwide from April 2007 to May 2012. Consumers should stop using the trampolines and return it to Sports Authority for a free repair kit. A children's riding toy by Step2 is being recalled after reports for children leaning too far forward on the seat and falling over the handle bar and hitting the ground. There have been four reports of incidents with one incident that resulted in head bumps and "one resulting in a minor concussion and cuts to the gum and lip from the child's front teeth." The toy was sold at Target and other retailers from January 2012 to August 2012. Consumers should immediately stop using the toy and contact Step2 for a free replacement toy. A supplier's warning to Nestlé has the company asking its customers to check the NESQUIK product codes before serving up that hot chocolate.
Check the label before seving your kids hot chocolate this morning. Nestlé USA announced the voluntary recall of limited quantities of Nestlé Nesquik® Chocolate Powder in the 10.9, 21.8 and 40.7 ounce canisters. According to the FDA's website, the voluntary recall is limited to only Nesquik Chocolate Powder, which was distributed nationally. No other varieties of Nesquik powder or any sizes or flavors of Nesquik ready-to-drink are affected by this recall. Nestlé said it is removing the canisters from distribution because the company was notified by an ingredient supplier, Omya Inc. that it has issued a recall of certain lots of its ingredient, calcium carbonate due to possible presence of salmonella. Wegmans announced a recall of bagged organic lettuce Friday on concerns it might be contaminated with E Coli bacteria. The recall includes 5- and 11-ounce bags of 'Feel Good About Organic Spinach & Spring Mix' sold from 10/14/12 to 11/1/12. The recalled products may be returned to the store for a full refund. According to a report by 6ABC, Banana Boat is recalling a line of its spray on products after reports of people catching on fire after applying the sunscreen. According to the HuffingtonPost, 23 varieties of Banana Boat UltraMist are being pulled from store shelves "due to the risk that the lotion can ignite when exposed to open flame," said the 6ABC report. There have been five reports of people catching on fire after applying the sunscreen. The company says the problem is with the spray valve, which is over applying the product and not drying properly. A possible health risk of Listeria monocytogenes prompts the recall of some bagged salad.
Dole Fresh Vegetables is voluntarily recalling a limited number of cases of Dole American Blend salad in 12 oz. bags, coded A275208A or B, with Use-by date of October 17 and UPC 7143000933, due to a possible health risk from Listeria monocytogenes. Dole Fresh Vegetables is coordinating closely with regulatory officials. No illnesses have been reported in association with the recall. The product code and Use-by date are in the upper right-hand corner of the package; the UPC code is on the back of the package, below the barcode. The salads were distributed in 10 U.S. states (Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Wisconsin).
