A hypodermic needle was sticking out of the defendant's leg when he was pulled over, according to Schuylkill Township Police.
A 26-year-old Phoenixville man was arrested in the borough last month after police say they found a hypodermic needle sticking out of his leg when the man was pulled over for erratic driving. On March 23 at 3:32 p.m., a Schuylkill Police officer was dispatched to Route 23 for a report of a green Chevy Impala that had nearly struck two separate vehicles head on, according to court documents. Police say one near miss came west of Valley Park Road and the second in the area of Moorehall Drive. Police located and pulled the vehicle over near the intersection of 23 and Starr Street. Erratic driving led to both charges, police say.
The following incidents were reported by the Schuylkill Township Police Department. Arrest does not suggest conviction. A 30-year-old Phoenixville woman was charged with DUI on Feb. 17 after a Schuylkill Township Police Officer observed her driving erratically, the department is reporting. The woman was traveling east on the 1200 block of Valley Forge Road when it was spotted, and after the officer followed it for a brief period, a stop was initiated near the intersection of Eastgate Drive and Westhorpe Drive. The woman failed a breath test, field sobriety testing, and was taken to Phoenixville Hospital to have blood drawn for testing. A Phoenixville woman faces multiple charges after a series of bizarre April incidents during which police say she chased down a neighbor and her two young boys in her Lexus in an apparent attempt to intimidate them. On November 21, VL Laurie Williams, 54, was charged with three counts of simple assault, six counts of harassment, and two counts of stalking. According to court documents, the trouble began on April 24 sometime before 6 p.m. when Williams’ neighbor, a resident of the unit block of Casselberry Lane, told police she went on a bicycle ride on her street with her two toddler sons attached in a trailer. A Phoenixville man was arrested on Sunday night after police say he got drunk and assaulted his wife and daughter over an argument centering around the television remote. Anthony Michael Kandy, 39, was charged with four counts of assault and four counts of harassment stemming from the November 25 incident. According to court documents, Kandy’s daughter told Schuylkill Township Police that her father had been drinking all evening when he got in an argument with her mother over the television remote in their home on the 100 block of Dawson Street. A Phoenixville woman was arrested for DUI late last month after she struck a guardrail on Valley Forge Road, Schuylkill Township Police are reporting. Angela Zimmerman, 36, faces charges of careless driving, failure to report damage to vehicle, and two counts of DUI stemming from the September 27 incident. According to court documents, Zimmerman struck a guardrail on the intersection of Pawling Road and Valley Forge Road at 1:30 a.m. that Thursday. A Trooper man was arrested for DUI on Pothouse Road last weekend after an officer witnessed him weave in and out of his lane, Schuylkill Township Police are reporting. Dane Michael Mandato, 26, faces charges of careless driving, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving an uninspected vehicle, and three counts of DUI stemming from the September 30 incident. A Phoenixville man was arrested on drug charges on Sunday after he was found passed out on heroin in a car wash, Schuylkill Township Police are reporting. Myron Korobij, 33, faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license stemming from the incident. According to court documents, an officer on patrol passed the Double Eye Car Wash on 1088 W. DUI on West Bridge Street According to court documents, on August 28 a Schuylkill Township police officer was following a silver Volvo on the 400 block of Pothouse Road when the car, traveling with its high-beams on, began to weave on the road, at one point nearly striking a tree. The officer pulled the driver, Joanna Shealy, a 23-year-old resident of the 500 block of Bridge Street, over and smelled alcohol on her person.
