Rep. Warren Kampf Visiting Phoenixville School

The state Representative will lead a career day session at Holy Family.

Some borough kids are about to get a crash course in local politics. On Thursday, state Rep. Warren Kampf (R-157) will visit Holy Family School to lead a career day session for a lucky third grade class.  Throughout the school year, as a way to expose the kids to the broad range of professions available to them, Jacqueline Dougherty’s class has taken a weekly visit from a parent or member of the community and received a quick lesson on the ins and outs of the guest's profession. In addition to the horizon-broadening aspects of the experience, Dougherty believes the presentations help provide the kids with the knowledge and skills to become good citizens. After meeting with the kids this week, Kampf will tour Holy Family and sit down with …

State Rep. Kampf Reflects on the Horror of Newtown

"Whatever we do, I feel we must make thoughtful and reasoned decisions," the Republican wrote.

The following letter was written by 157th District Representative Warren Kampf. In response to the tragic events in Newtown, CT, there is a natural call to do something to prevent this from ever happening again.  I feel that call myself. As a father of two young children as well as a former criminal prosecutor, I am shocked, disbelieving, grieving and saddened.  In the face of this, I do not agree with those who simply say, "No," to any future changes or declare there is no "political will" to make change.  However, I do not believe we can rush into a course of action.  For one thing, all of the facts about the Newtown shootings are not yet available.  To take action without the correct facts is to risk making decisions that do not meet …

Another Close One: Kampf Tops Drucker in 157th Rematch

The Republican won a second term while Drucker admitted this was his last run in the district.

For the second-consecutive election cycle, Republican Warren Kampf topped Democrat Paul Drucker for right to represent the 157th District in Pennsylvania’s House of Representatives. The incumbent declared victory shortly before 11 p.m. Two years after beating Drucker by just under a thousand votes, Kampf ultimately won by 1,002. At an election night party at Wayne’s Landmark Americana, Kampf said his message of fiscal restraint struck a chord with the voters of the 157th. “Controlling spending in state government and not increasing the burden on the job sector, improving Pennsylvania’s competitiveness, making it more job-friendly, was all a large part of our message. Wages aren’t going up,” Kampf said, in the midst of a Republican …

Many thanks, Steve, for the explanation. I had just seen the web site update. For what it's worth, the overall totals for the 157th have also changed (by more than the W2 fix): Kampf 17,136, Drucker 16,379, margin 757.   more ›

The Rep. says the $140 million outlay would spur job growth and innovation.

Kampf proposed the “Innovate Pennsylvania Program” along with fellow state Rep. Joe Hacket (R-161).   Under the program, the pair want to funnel at least $140 million into cash poor tech-firms in the state. They say this will catalyze job growth and innovation. Politics PA Calls Kampf-Drucker 'Top Ten' House Race

The publication said the 157th District seat is one of the most likely in the state to change hands.

The 157th District rematch between incumbent Warren Kampf and Democratic challenger Paul Drucker was named one of Pennsylvania’s ten most competitive state House races yesterday by Politics PA. The pair, who have already sparred over the Marcellus Shale, the state’s controversial Voter ID law, and public employee pensions, are expected to go down to the wire again after Kampf topped Drucker by under 1,000 votes in 2010. Politics PA said the seat is, out of 203 districts in play, the third most likely to switch hands, and had this to say about the dynamic race: This is another rematch. Kampf beat then-freshman Democrat Paul Drucker by 4 points in 2010, about 1,000 of 25,000 votes cast. Dems’ messaging statewide since 2011 is aimed at guys …

Agreed. I looked at the data too. But it is quite obvious with Drucker's fundamental mindset of taking more from business in the form of taxes and redistribution of wealth. He's running a frantic campaign now with a shift to the far left appealing to progressives. It's over.   more ›

Kampf Eyes Pension Reform

The state Rep. has authored a pair of bills that aim to reform the Commonwealth's pension programs for its employees and teachers.

With the Commonwealth saddled with $40 billion of pension debt, a group of state legislators met in Harrisburg last week for a joint House committee hearing on the outsized tab. At the center of the conversation was 157th District representative Warren Kampf, who has authored a pair of bills—one directed at the state workers' pension system; the other at the state’s program for teachers—that aim to draw down Pennsylvania’s obligation to its employees. Kampf, in the midst of a difficult reelection challenge from Democrat Paul Drucker, sat down with Phoenixville Patch in his Paoli office earlier this month to talk about how the debt grew and what he proposes we do about it. His proposal, he said, is for any future hire at the state or local …

Steel City Hosts Drucker Fundraiser

The event centered around women's health issues.

Steel City hosted a fundraiser for Pennsylvania House of Representatives Democratic challenger Paul Drucker on Saturday. The event centered around women's health issues and, according to Drucker's campaign, the candidate took the opportunity to outline his positions on abortion, contraception, and natural gas extraction. "Attacking the rights of women is unfair. Over-regulating women’s healthcare clinics to deny access to affordable healthcare, while allowing gas companies to go unregulated and giving them free-reign to pollute our environment is unfair," Drucker said.
